At Birmingham Inclusive Choir, every sound, every movement and every contribution is celebrated, as is every individual.
We welcome people with disabilities, along with families and carers, creating a fun and supportive session for all.
Although we’re called a choir, you don’t have to be a singer to join us. Whether you sing every word, play an instrument, join in through movement, or through a combination of everything, it’s about making music your way.
It is FREE to join and there are no auditions.
Our team of enthusiastic and experienced choir leads work with members as a group and individually to build their confidence to take part, and everyone supports each other.
Being part of the Inclusive Choir enables members to enjoy a safe and inclusive place to develop singing and music-making skills, feeling part of a special community where they can develop a personal pride, make friends, and share their joy with fellow performers and audiences.
Monthly sessions take place at Midlands Arts Centre (MAC), with no obligation to attend every session – although many members do! We also get together for other performance opportunities organised throughout the year.
The group has continued to grow in popularity, and by nature is open to anyone with SEND who wants to join, particularly encouraging children and young people with profound and severe learning disabilities, who may not be able to access mainstream opportunities. Siblings and families are welcome to attend.
