Come and sing with us!
Ex Cathedra’s Academy of Vocal Music provides a structured development pathway to nurture singing in children and young people, and our approach enables us to get to know each singer as an individual.
We’re currently recruiting for new members in our Junior and Senior Academy choirs and would be delighted to welcome young people who would like to try something new, as well as those who may enjoy singing already.
We rehearse at the Birmingham & Midland Institute on Margaret Street, B3 3BS, on Wednesday evenings during term-time. Our Spring Term starts on 14th January 2026.
Junior Academy:
• 6-7 p.m. for children in Years 3 – 6
Senior Academy:
• 6-7 p.m. for young people in Years 7 – 8
• 6-8 p.m. for young people in Years 9 – 13
We are keen to support singers with changing voices, and we offer a wide range of learning and performing opportunities for young people in Birmingham and beyond – both alongside the Ex Cathedra Choir and in partnership with other arts organisations including Birmingham Royal Ballet (The Nutcracker).
Sibling discounts and bursaries are available.
